Accepting these terms

By opening or using Try Online Notepad at tryonlinenotepad.com (“the site”), you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

Try Online Notepad is a free, browser-based notepad. It lets you write, organize, export, and share notes without creating an account. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time without notice.

Your notes are yours

You keep all rights to everything you write. We do not claim ownership of your notes, and because notes are stored in your browser, we never receive them. You are responsible for the content you create and for anything you choose to share through a share link.

Storage, backups, and data loss

Notes are saved in your browser's localStorage on the device you use. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, switching browsers or devices, or browser storage limits can delete or hide your notes. We have no copy and cannot recover them. Export regular backups of anything important.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to:

  • break any law, or help someone else break one;
  • share content through share links that is illegal, harmful, or infringes someone else's rights;
  • distribute malware, phishing pages, or spam;
  • attack, overload, scrape at an abusive rate, or interfere with the site or its hosting.

Share links

Share links contain the note itself, compressed into the URL. They are not encrypted, and anyone with the link can read the note. You are responsible for who you send a link to. Do not use share links for passwords, keys, or confidential information.

Third-party services

Some optional features rely on services outside our control, such as your browser's speech recognition for voice typing and Google Translate for additional languages. Their use is governed by those providers' own terms and policies.

Intellectual property

The site's design, code, name, logo, and written content (excluding your notes) belong to Try Online Notepad. You may link to the site freely, but you may not copy or republish its design or content as your own.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notes will never be lost.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Try Online Notepad is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, notes, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
